Hi
Can someone out there give me a dimension to locate the 'S' badge on the grille. A dimension from the centreline of the grille to the centre of the badge would be good.
My 'S' has an after market grille without the two mounting holes required.
Thanks in anticipation.
Al

Mine is 300mm from the centre of grill to centre of badge, on the pasenger side, third row down.
I'm fairly sure its original but it might pay for one of the other guys to confirm before you make any holes

Thanks Daniel,
300mm looks about right from photo's I've seen.
Confirmation from another member would be good before I get the drill out!
Regards

Thanks Mike,
It's important to me that the badge is in it's correct place.
I've seen them mounted closer to the centre, they just don't look right.
Regards Al

If you are really concerned about everything being correct you should know that there is no such thing as a "Clubman S"

Morris 1100,
I thought in 1973 clubmans were sold as a mini or mini 'S'.
What does the 'S' mean in the body number?
e.g. 022 A2SM19

A car can either be a "Mini Clubman" or it can be a "Leyland Mini S".
Going on your numbers yours is a Leyland Mini S.
The Clubman name was only used from 71 to early 73.
The Mini Clubman used the previous code system and was a YG2S7

022 A2SM19
022 = YDO22 = Leyland Mini S (YDO22 also referred to the Mini Clubman)
A = Compliance code = Manual gearbox (silly code because they are all manuals!)
2S = body type = 2 door saloon = Mini. (2S can be a Mini or a Marina Coupe) Note the S does not refer to Leyland Mini S
M = transmission type = 4 speed floor change Manual transmission.
09 (it can't be 19) = engine = 998.

Thanks Morris 1100.
All I wanted is to know where to stick my 'S' badge.
No other comments required to where else I can stick it thank you!
No really, information greatly appreciated.
The number I gave you was incorrect (Got it from the receipt of purchase)
The M is a M10 (1098cc) not M19 as stated.
From what I gather, the 022 is the code for a Leyland Mini S, a Leyland Mini LS or a Leyland Mini Sunshine (refer to www.minis.com.au CAR TYPR.HTM) I've been doing some homework, although there seems to be an odd one in there XNHAB18Y for a Leyland Mini S sedan.
The compliance plate on my car (which I might add is not going and has not been on the road for about 8 years, so why am I stuffing around with a badge and grille and not getting on with the major things required)
is MINI.S.022 A2S2.M10.
Does the S after MINI mean a 'S' or some thing else?
