Driving home from work yesterday in the mini I would have spotted at least 8 MINIs, not one wave or sideways glance. My conclusion, a good deal of MINI owners aren't car enthusiasts, but car owners. 8)

Anyway, do MINI owners wave to each other?

You will get the occasional one that IS a car enthusiast but as you said, to most people it is just a car, like any other.

I always get so many more waves from classic mini owners when I am in my mini.

i wave to all new and old, get some strange looks from time to time but always wave regardless.

MINI - MINI almost always a recipricol wave, unless its yellow for some reason they tend to be non wavers. But i admit alot of MINI owners are not enthusiasts and dont get the whole community thing of owning a MINI or mini. I have had the fingers a few times from mini owners but i shrug that off thinking you wouldnt do that if you saw how wicked my 1970 mk2 cooper s is sitting at home.

I get the occasional wave when driving my MINI from MINI owners. If I wave first then I usually get a wave or a late toot from Mini owners

Your conclusion is correct, more so with later model MINIs and especially in the big smoke. Typically MINI owners respond to exaggerated waves and flashing lights from the MINI. I reckon I get more response from MINIs in the Mini actually!

On the subject of waving, it seems that Mokes are visible to me from another dimension. Unfortunatly they seem to mostly NOT see MINIs wave and only sometimes see Minis in my experiences. So what if I open the door and wave?

Not waving, but here is a curiousity of mine. Maybe it's luck but on driving back and forth through the same Police RBT twice in each mini within one hour, I got pulled over twice (in the MINI) but the Mini was waved thru. Again and again I get waved thru in the Mini. Does anyone else feel like they get waved thru every time they enter a RBT in a Mini?
:?:

I've only ever been pulled over for a RBT in a EF Falcon - maybe because I looked young? Or it was probably because they were pulling EVERY car over :)
