hi,

last year I bought piston and piston ring from minisport autralia and something is strange

I have 73.00mm piston and hasting piston ring where we can read 73.00mm so for me it's ok

I have also piston in 1275+0.40 and on the piston ring box we can read 70.63mm. for me it's very strange

what you think about that?

regards

The 73mm pistons and rings are ok it will take engine up to 1360cc. As for the 0.40 pistons are you sure the ring size is not 71.63 if they are 70.63 they are too small for a 0.40 1275 piston by 1mm

70.63mm is standard bore for 1275.
To check if rings are std size like the box says, put one on a +.040" piston, it'll be obvious if they are too small- you will have well over a 3mm ring gap.

on the box it's write 70.63mm and 2.781 inches

the skirt piston size is 71.60mm, the size on the top of the piston is 70.60mm for the +0.40 piston.

I measure the 2 rings.I press them in there maximum and the two measure 70.63mm.

I fit it directly in a block cylinder and I see the gap

with this 70.63mm ring there's no gap... strange no?

for me 71.60mm piston so ring: 71.60mm and not 70.60mm it's very strange

I send a mail to andrew from minispares but no answer...

hi
I just try them in a standard bored block, it's very strange, because it's impossible to fit... there's no gap they are to big .. it's strange for 70.63mm.

I try the old ring and I can fit easily...

this afternoon, I'm going to go to my reborer I dont't know if it's the right word.
Ihope he can help me, because it's very strange...
