Stew,,, there`s this Indian restaurant in Manchester, i`ve forgotten the name of the place but it`s right in the middle of the main "food shop road"- if you know where i mean

& it makes the best dam yummyest nasteyest hotest meanest curry ever,,, i`d dearly love it if you brought some of that over with you, maybe in an esky or something :-)

ah well,,, maybe not hey?

ok, i`ll go back to sending e-bay nastey e-mails :-)

mmm sounds lovely, never thought about not being able to get these 'essentials of life!' oh my god how am i going to survive!
Nah - you can actually get a lot of stuff but depends on how much you can be arsed going to the ex-pat food shop - there's quite a few around anywhere where there's enough ex-pats or backpackers. I'd imagine there'd be a few around Brisbane and the Gold Coast for sure.

Problem with the crisps is that by the time they ship them out here, they've only got about 5 weeks left on their best before date, they're twice the price and you don't get mutlipacks either!

When we went back to UK for 3 months last (northern) summer I did spend the first 3 or 4 weeks just gorging on all the little things that i'd missed. I also emptied the vending machine at work of Kit Kats in the first 5 days (Aussie ones just aren't the same)

But goddamn it, after 2 years in Oz, I really missed Turkish Bread and BBQ sauce when I was in the UK :)

I occassionally get 'care packages' from friends in the UK with Party Rings, Monster Munch and the like - makes for a nice nostalgic suprise!

You'll survive Stew, good luck with the organisation and the packing and the move. PS what the heck happened to Minifinity? - it's gone all weird since I last looked and lost all the helpful stuff like tech library etc!

We introduced our Scottish friends to TimTam slams - you take a TimTam and nibble the a small bit out of diagonal corners. Then use the Tim Tam to suck hot coffee up like a straw. when the coffee hits your mouth you quickly pop the whole thing in your mouth - Hmmmmmmmmmmm
