I think they call em aviation sheers?

I have a pair and they are ok. I have a longer straight pair and another pair with a bit of a curve. This ones good for cutting holes.

I've done it with a jigsaw. Use a new (sharp) fine tooth blade, take the base plate off so that you can easily twist into all sorts of angles, and take it nice and slow and relaxed - oh and Murphy dictates that the more spare blades you have the less likely you are to break one

I had one that looked the same. DOnt know how you could have butchered it so badly. (they had to use a piece of wood to hold the speaks in. My advice dont cut into the passel shelf at all mount your speakers under the rear seat.

Why do people want to mount the speakers as far away from their ears as possible?

Don't cut holes, it will just make someone elses life harder in the future.
Just leave the speakers in a box on the passenger seat and leave the window down. It will save time and money in the long term anyway.

Parcel shelf/tray is such a stupid name, anything you put on there will approach you at 1G+ whenever you go for the anchors hard... or hit anything.
I have the opposite problem, a PO hacked the holes waaaaay too big for the round speakers, so I'm thinking of making a baffle board from 3/8" plywood (I hate the flimsy crap 3mm MDF he used...)

My deluxe has four 8-inch holes in the parcel shelf, or whatever is left of it anyway.
I didn't put them there, and I want them gone.

How hard is it to replace the shelf?
:?
