Tiny , by naming a buisiness and saying you have waited 6 weeks for a job that was supposed to be finished sooner etc is defaming them and opening ausmini (Poeee particularly) to legal repercussions . That's just the way it is , someone could argue you hurt their buisiness by naming them and saying they couldn't meet deadlines .

Isn't the business defaming themselves by promising something to be done and not delivering by that date??? :?

If Tiny is just saying the truth how can he be defaming them? Nothing he has said was opinionated? Its just pure facts. Its the business that can change if it makes them look good or bad.

Personal issues between businesses and their customers should be dealt with between the person and the business, Ausmini isn't a place to vent personal issues with businesses, nor is it a place for businesses to vent about customers. If it really gets that bad, or you are getting nowhere, then there are consumer watchdogs in each state which you can take your case to.

On a legal level, there is invariably two sides to most stories, and placing one side of the story on here can leave the owner of the site open to charges of defamation.

Ausmini is here to help, not act as leverage in issues that are private.

But this is where it gets sticky , a business (not saying the business he's talking about would do this , just giving an example of how it all works) could then say Tiny isn't saying the truth , Tiny could be taken into court to prove he was saying the truth and they could claim they hadn't given a concrete delivery date or who knows whatever legal excuse (no contract was signed for the delivery date remember) . Then Poeee could be dragged into it as the owner of the forum that allowed tiny to say things that could or could not have been proven to be slanderous . Even if everyone was cleared and didn't have to pay any fines or court costs they have still lost days off work and possible travel expenses not to mention a lot of stress and lawyer visits/costs etc .

Wouldn't it just be easier to not mention company names ....

Agreed. But its just the principal of it. I also agree that the best way to solve these types of disputes is away from an open forum to avoid stepping on peoples toes over misunderstandings.
But as I said: Its the principal of it.

I know what you're saying and while it is fine to talk about things like that in person to someone at a car show or wherever , it's a different matter to put it in writing on a forum where the business owner is a member .

Well, my 2c worth.
I think I know the business you are referring to. There is a defined person in charge (ie the owner). You would be best served by ringing him direct. If he's not there, ask when he will be, and call back.
