Well the bolt fell out after a small hit with a 2lb hammer. The rust scale that was holding it in was soggy with vinegar so the vinegar was getting into the bolt.

The molassas doesn't look as exciting as the vinegar (but I think that is mainly due to the effervesence).

I think that cleaned up quite well in the vinegar.

You will really speed up the molassas if you can heat it. For small containers I use a fish tank heater. (putting it in the sun will help) For large parts I use an old Cherry Picker bucket which can fit whole panels in it. One downside is the smell it produces when the molasses starts fermenting.

Ill be watching the news for a breaking news story of thousands of liters of vinegar or Molases going missing from a tanker whilst parked near Goulburn.
