I think it is a great idea - but as has been said as long as you can get the approvals etc.

I would agree on the classic mini's - just about all delivery cars these days are newer so something like a mini would be good. You WILL need to find people that are going to be easy on them otherwise they will give you major headache's. If they are looked after I don't think you would have too many problems with them.

<edit> remember that mini's are money pits and will require alot more money to be spent on them than a newer car

I think there is a merket n Sydney for a car based eatery and food place. I even went as far as doing the numbers. No profit for 4 years  based on decent patronage.

The margins are too low and the start up costs up costs too high.

Your place is an existing business with most of what you need to operate. However it would cost you at least $60k - to get it the way you want, plus wages rent etc. That is a lot of pizza.

I assume the place is rented so all the work you put in goes out the door if you wish to relocate or close down.

That being said, despite my razzing of you, you should be praised for dreaming. Without it nothing happens.

just call it "TheItalianJob",,, notice it`s all one word

or whatever you call it with the word mini in the name, then make it all one word with mini "Within" that one word

then it`s not an obvious take off, it`s obscured & the naming rights thingy doesn`t hold any water in a court of law

:-)

Deus ex Machina works because even if you remove the bikes, they've still got bloody great food and coffee.

Good luck Tiny, I hope to see you on TV one day when Gordon Ramsay pays you a visit. :D

I should try eating there when I go to Sydney next time.
All the visits have been about drooling on their SR400 cafe racers :D
But Deus feels weird without the bikes...or without the cafe.
I just like the setting and atmosphere.

the other nite the family went to an italian restraunt in liverpool and mum knew the owner and got talking. she found out the place has gone broke and the guy wants to sell. that nite mum dreamt of running the place and turning it into a mini style restraunt calling it the italian job-mini pizzas and pastas and having red white and green minis delivering pizzas as well as having mini memorbila and the movie memorbila all over the shop.

i thought it might be a good idea as that the mini club in sydney could hang out along with other mini drivers and car clubs.

just want to know what does anyone else think, at the moment its just a thought but if its deemed to be a good idea it could all well be happening real soon and will be asking for minis to appear at the grand opening.

so what do you think?

Great idea...what about an ITJ theme rather than the name...then BMW could go take a running jump (maybe)

Discount for Ausmini people :?: (they are all basically cheapskates :!: )

you could do a like a "Play a scene" from the movie each night,,, l

ike "You`re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off"

or maybe the 2 fat chicks in the car while persuading Benny Hill to do the computer fiddling

or maybe even drive 3 minis down the front stairs of the restaurant in the middle of dinner

etc

:-)
