Rotary in a Honda Civic in NZ:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auct ... ermanent=0

The guy used some sort of import Corona FWD gearbox.

But if a rotor fits where a VTEC fits, and a VTEC can fit a Mini (with a helluva shoe-horn) then the rotary into a Mini should be possible. :D

Paul Gulson built and raced a rotary mini in the late 80s, last I heard of it was down in Vic somewhere, was still front wheel drive but seem to remeber it was nearly mid mounted engine

He might. Would like to keep the motor & box though.
I've welded that hole in RH rear guard, cut the bottom out of the spare wheel well, and it'll get a nice flat piece of 1.6mm steel shet welded in there. No aluminium sheet with pop rivets, fibreglass or bog bodges..
Rest of the car is pretty good, rust wise. 8)

Well, I've got a 12a powered MOKE in the Brains factory at the moment (still in my head....)

Hoping to pick up a shell in the next 6 months and start measuring and cutting.....

Got approval in concept from the RTA Engineer, cant turbo it, but with 11,000RPM on tap in a 500Kg car, who cares !!

Stay tuned for more details as they come to life.....
J

PS - Already done the Turbo 998, so this is just the next evolution!

Ooooh yea.......

Gotta keep it FWD, Number 1 requirment.....

ROta just seemed the natural engine to drop in.. was originallly looking at a SUbaru Brumby (1.8 litre) with the rear output housing cut off and welded shut.... too wide for the engine bay though...
Then there was an Alfa 2 litre idea, and a few others, but the 12A gives a nice balance between Torque and weight....

Cheers
J
