hi, is this something you can just bolt on? or do you have to do some major work to your engine so it can handle it? $1200 seems cheap?

i wouldn't say MAJOR work, but there's some work so that ur engine lasts more than a month

centre oil pickup
centre main strap

are the two things he stressed to me, other than that it's best to have a recently reconditioned low compression engine and yes u just bolt it on, supply ur own hif44 carby, and bobs ur aunty.

i guess the more money u spend, the more u work u do, the safer it is for ur engine. To be more confident in higher revs u'd balance the engine so that it spins perfectly.
His standard pulley kit is a 7 psi pulley i think. that setup on a reasonable 1275 should be pulling mid to low 16's (easily) and a bit of head work 15's.

EDIT: with the setup i told him i was going to do:
metro A+ 1275
supercharger kit (10 psi)
lcb's
balanced bottom end
ported head (already have the big big valve head)
centre main strap
centre oil pickup
and a nice cam

he thought i'd be getting low 15's.

yeah that is indeed in need of respect.... and it was his first run wasnt it? i mean his first time running a car down the 1/4...?

if so, that means he has an absolute awesome figure.... imagine if he could improve just by driving technique? maybe a 13.7 car? crazy....

(no offence intended if it sounded that way, god knows i couldnt better it at all)

boostedmini did a 14.? a while back. He said `traction was a problem' with his 13" wheels.

Am I right in thinking...

Dragstrip = bigger sidewalls and less tyre pressure

:?

Yeah that's what he thought, so he bunged his 10x6 mags and A008s on. But now he's gone back to 13s I think..
Don't think he's run it on the strip since. Working on the motor...

ran a 14. something... thats pretty sweet in anyones opinion....
you reckon, if you had the rear quiet stiff so it didnt bug dwn in a launch it would give and better traction?
