Well I'd guess that its a mini! :D

Looks like a UK import with the strainer for the UK heater intake, lack of grill surround could point to early perhaps?

I'm sure I will be corrected by the experts!

Going by the picture of the head I would say an 850 as it has no temp sender.
Cheers Pete

it is a 998 engine because it is 9y and the head has double valve springs for some reason

Could be a cooper with a 9y prefix, most 998 have 99*

did someone else ask about this car the other day?

it's an english 850 with an aussie Deluxe motor. Probably an Austin because it has had a heater, Austins beingthe deluxe version, and Morris' being the version for the commoners

give us a picture of the front part of the exhaust tunnel, showing the gearstick cut-out

All engines have the holes on the flat where the numbers are stamped. It does not matter if they were local or imported.

How about posting pics of the whole car??? Not just bits & peices of it, would make it way easier to workout what type of mini it is.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.
