Hello..... Just wondering, if anybody else has experience in this area... I Would really like to put a system like this:

In the mini, but wondering about what it needs regarding power source, connections etc... I mean are these meant for newer cars? Is it a BIG hassle to accomodate these systems? or just relatively straight forward?

Any help greatly appreciated...

not that hard, just need a fused constant power , switched power(aux power)
and th rest are simple.
U shouldnt have any problems putting it in a mini, would be pretty cool.

hmmm cool! So, yeah, I just need to create an Aux. output for it? But Where? Cos I was thinkin, there wouldnt really be anywhere for it to connect to - I think I only have Positive and Negative connections for my original radio... was thinking that newer cars that that have more complex AV set-ups would have an allowance for them already... anyway I will go learn bout it... Thanx - Its good to know that it will be fairly straight forward!

i need to check my wiring diagram, yours is a early clubman with the ignition key on the dash?

Yeah, early clubbie, Ignition Key next to steering wheel - not in amongst the heater controls...

In your fuse box under the bonnet there are two fuses, one is on only with the ignition, the other is on all the time. Choose the first fuse and it will suffice as your Auxilliary, the second can be the supply to keep the clock and radio station memory working.

If the wire to the stereo has an inline fuse installed, put the connector onto the unfused (supply) side.
You can prove which side is the supply side by testing for twelve volts on one side and then removing the fuse, if the voltage reamins you have the supply side of the fuse, if it turns off with removal of the fuse it is the fused side of the box.
