Today i crashed my beloved mini    I still hant gotten over it.

We were on a mini run, with a mk1 and 2 mk2 Cooper S, two clubman Gt's a 998 cooper a modified mini k and mine. Went to blackheath for the day and had a look around and on the way back about 20kms or so from lithgow it happened........

It was wet and i was travelling behind a mini at an appropriate distance and they broke hurriedly and then i broke but my wheels locked up and i began to slide to the right. I tried to correct but went too far, So went the other way and again oversteered this time losing it and going off the side of the road. as i was going in i ws yelling NOOOO!! AHH NOOO!!, but that didnt help. Kept going my wheel dug in, or i hit a dirt mound im not real sure which caused it too roll, hitting th big branch probably didnt help... eventually landing on its feet.

Couldnt get out my drivers door so climbed out of passenger door. I was fine - not a thing wrong with me which was a blessing. The other mins came back too see if i was ok - they were worried about me i coulnt care about me i was upset about my car

Any way here are some photo's of my car.

Well We had some VERY HANDY mini people travelling with us. This is Warwick Augustin - an absoute champion - taking a look at it deciding what was wrong. He and some others pulled the tieord off - straightened it and made sure the other components were ok. Used my spare and borrowed a mates spare - and i was off and running again. Drove it about 50kms with some rope and the seatbeltdoor strap holding my door on and no drivers side window (it was SOOOO COLD!!!).
Met my parents who had got a car trailer at blayney and we loaded it on and took her back home to cowra.

I was SOO upset at what had happened to my car. But it could have been a lot worse because there were tree's about and many other things could have gone wrong. Still havnt got over it emotially
But i got out of it scathed free. I only cut myhand after i had got out of the car and went to take a look :x .

On the bright side, you still have the windscreen sticker.

Sorry to hear about your accident but at least you're OK. Mini can be fixed.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

thats a real shame.. luckily your ok but unfortunately.. your car will never see the road again that would be too hard to fix and cost too much money.. again thats a real shame.

It may do in a different Shell, there's lots around and can be picked up fairly cheaply.

Don't give up hope...

I'm glad your OK mate.
What a bugger of a thing to happen to ya!
I hope you can find another decent shell to swap everything into if your going to rebuild.
