I am stunned Josh, that is an amazing job you have achieved, I am not looking for the same performance but it is reassuring to know the unit is capable of that, I would love to catch up and check out the machine and ask you 101 questions...

Fantastic effort!!!!!!

Cheers
Michael

It'll go fine mate, mine cooled it up to about 15psi and 150HP OK (probably more like 12psi out the other side of the barrell) anything more than that and it just couldn't cope. It will work much better than the top mount and you get to retain the stock look 8)

Well done Josh, love the bling.

telling him my issues with intake temps (it was rising up to 50+ degrees)

with just this change and an adjustment in tune it made 201.3HP on LESS boost - 18psi with intake temps dropping to a stable 37 degrees.

Makes sense to me, just like MDU where the wankers said I didn't need cooling fan, intercooler turned into heater. Mine was 70+ and rising at 10psi on the dyno that day. On the racetrack I've never seen more than about 40degrees, even at 15psi with the water temp at 105!!.

Wow 70+ and rising - would your computer be dumping fuel and adjusting the timing to stop detonation?

I thought i'd post up a pic of the PWR core, you can see from the pics that there is not a lot of surface area and it's quite restrictive. PWR actually use their air-air core in their cooler, whereas Plazmaman have developed a proper water-air core for this application. They will even back their product and will guarantee that their cooler will perform better than any other W2A setup on the market or your money back!

It looks a simpler design too Josh, as in easier to manufacture.

So, if that be so, how does the cost compare to the PWR unit?

Cheers,
Tricky

Yep, sure did and got down below 11:1 before I pulled the pin (I was sitting in the car). The guy said,"thats why it's not making power - its too rich" dumb a$$.

It looks simpler, but it is CNC machined and the core is a piece of art. They are slightly more expensive for the PWR of the same [b]size[/b ]and are of a MUCH higher quality, but they handle more power - so work out cheaper for the size you would need to go in the PWR to equal the cooling.

I had a 4x6 PWR Barrell (Rated at 270HP - didn't even get to that did i) and the one i have now is the equivalent but only slightly bigger. To get a PWR one to cool as efficiently you would need to get one much much bigger which apart from not having the space to do so also costs more than the smaller Plazmaman W2A (rated at 500HP)

 they were pretty bad...but they were from the mountains - they don't have computers up there do they?

Can I be the first to ask for ballpark on price for it? and how does it compare price wise to the PWR unit?

Also, what size are the fittings going in? -8? -10?

Cheers... and congrats on reaching your goal!

Thanks :D

The price is on Plazmaman's website for each size:
http://www.plazmaman.com/shop/index.php?action=listCategoryItems&catId=23

Retails for $695 Polished. Inc. Fittings which are -12 (19mm) you can also just use Barb fittings with hose clamps if you wish. They are also screw fittings so you can start with barb fittings and change to dash fittings later if you want. With PWR they come welded.

Something the same size (about 4x8") in PWR is $501 but to get something with equal cooling capacity you would have to get a massive 8x8 (at a guess going by their power ratings) which is $1160
