yeah I just looked but it is the John Cooper signature sticker that the rover minis had on the stripes. Just compared it to the other one and its the same so Its obviously correct :?

If he hadn't pursued it we'd all be driving Sports 850s at best... :P

He didn't build any. It is a bullshit myth that keeps poping up.
BMC wanted to build the car.
BMC wanted to use the name of the F1 team that won the last two World Championships.
Issigonis was as keen about the car as John Cooper was. (they both sat on the BMC Competitions committee)
John Cooper was not the owner of Cooper Cars.
John Cooper was not the designer at Cooper Cars.
John Cooper never designed or made any parts for a Mini.

Charlie Cooper owned Cooper Cars. When Charlie died John inherited it but promptly sold it to the Chipstead Motor Group. Later on after Cooper Cars closed down John Cooper set up a small car yard called John Cooper Garages.
