Used the search function and found the previous post about power supply to an electric pmp.
Question i'll ask is can you take power from the Auxiliary terminal on the alternator so as when the motor runs the pump is powered and when stopped, the pump stops.I amagine you would still use an inline fuse in case of short or is this not necessary.

It's not the best place to take power from for anything. It's shoddy, looks terrible, adds about a meter to your power run and is best avoided.

Use the fuse box, there is a permanently on fuse and a switched fuse. If you are worried about current draw through the switched fuse overloading the circuit, power it from the upstream (supplied) side and put an inline fuse to the fuel pump.

Yeah I wouldnt go off the alt either.
Mine runs from Acc on the ignition... so if you stall the car the pump will keep running, ie/ then you can clutch start or restart it. I have switches to 'kill' the pump for when I am mucking around with radio, etc or I dont want it to run...

If you really want to have the fuel pump only run when the engine is on, then buy a Facet oil pressure switch. It is basically a relay that runs off oil pressure so that the fuel pump only runs when there is oil pressure (ie engine running). It also has an extra bypass wire to connect to your starter solenoid that gives power to your fuel pump when you are cranking the engine, for ease of starting.
