that's a sad admission, you'd rather pay someone more than the job is worth with money that could be better spent elsewhere and miss out on learning a little more about your car, than spend a few hours with a roll of electrical tape and some connectors

tidying up and repairing looms is one of the jobs I look forward to, it's easy to get a good result with relatively little effort

Simon, is right.

The wiring is the easiest area of the car to repair and the most inexpensive.

As you have never done it before, mark the wires you undo so you know where to put them afterwards. You cant go wrong.

You will be surprised how easy it is. With that said I would gadly accept your beer if I were in Sydney.

Matt

nah, it's the principle of it now.... we should all FORCE you to fix it yourself, cos you're being such a wuss :P

start off with a wiring diagram, all the wires are identified by colour.... identify the wires, what they're plugged in to at each end, and correct whatever needs to be corrected

PM "Steve.E" on here.

He and a qualified mechanic/engineer run a part time mini business called Twilight Mini Mechanical in Bexley North.

They work weekends so might be able to fit you in sometime.

Get in contact with Steve. He is a great bloke and does a superb job.

Matt

provided a previous owner hasn't hacked and mutilated it. If you do get stuck I have used Roy at Richmond Rd Auto Electrics which is now on Woodstock Avenue just near the Holden service centre (near the M7 woodstock junction) for work before (not on the mini I don't think but other jobs).

Edit - just realised. I was replying to the original poster from oakhurst, not knowing where lilmatti was from.
