Made an enquiry about a part I couldn't find anywhere else (rubber dust cap for the floor starter switch in a MK1) from Somerford Mini in the UK In the reply the following statement was on the bottom. Needless to say I ordered it along with the dust cap

STOP PRESS
CD parts catalogue now available - £4.00 It includes video footage of the last EVER Mini shell being built at Longbridge. This footage is EXCLUSIVE to Somerford Mini, runs for about 40 mins and must be seen!

Got the CD yesterday - pays to read the fine print - its a video of the shell only - not through to complete car or any mechanicals anyway...interesting.

Highly labour intensive - two guys to the assembly - one each side - starts with the floor pan with front end already attached - each guy fetches the panel brings it to the car - lots of hitting with a BFH - clamp - spot weld - another panel - more hitting with BFH - spot weld. At one point some hydrolic clamps swing up to hold the body rigid while the roof goes on - only part thats not 'hands on' so to speak.

Haven't looked to see how big the file is but lothed to post it for downloading as its exclusive to Somerford - but if people ask nice it may email

Turns out the video is 340+Mb - bit big to email - I've decided to make copies of the whole CD with the Somerville catalogue and will have them at the Muster.
