I am looking at a steering wheel that I want to buy and wonder if anyone can tell me if this will fit the spline on a Cooper S? It says it suits MG, Triumph and Lotus. I would really appreciate some help as it is a dead sexy wheel.

No idea really, but- I have a MotaLita Mini hub here that somebody supposedly machined out to fit an MG. It now won't fit a Mini..

Why not borrow a s/h Mini steering column shaft and rock in there, and try the fit..

:? what boss kit does the s/wheel accept as there are many brands or does it have one machined as part of the s/wheel, also are there 6 or 12 bolt holes in the s/wheel to so it can fit on the boss?

Many years ago I bought a sports wheel from a Brisbane MG place that he said had been fitted to an MGB and "should fit a mini but not sure" . It didn't fit but at the price I paid it was worth it for the wheel alone (would have been super worth it if it had of fitted  ) so I just got a mini boss kit . I gave the MG boss to a mate with a couple of B's and an A and he put it into miscellaneous spares so not sure if it was to fit a B in the end or not .

Hiya,

MGB Moto-lita bosses - which are nine hole, not 12 - do NOT fit a mini spline.

I found out the hard way!

Mountney and Astrali six hole bosses that fit a mini can be drilled to fit a Moto-lita steering wheel very easily - three of the holes line up exactly and the other six can be drilled.

cheers! jon

Thx guys. I will take the plunge and keep my figers x'd.
By the way, it has 6 holes attaching the rim to the boss. It'll be a lucky dip methinx
