what is the story with this 120mph speedo I think I remember seeing one before but dont know where, it has a warning light in the middle of the 60mph

That is the Australian made Mk2 S speedo, it's different to the Mk1 (120MPH +5) and the UK Mk2 (130MPH).
It's also a different colour, a sort of charcoal- the other two were black.

Also The chrome surround on the Mk2 Is bevelled on top edge and the Mk1 is rounded

That is Oz Mk2.
It's the Mk1 speedo surrounds that are bevelled inside, the Mk2 is rounded. I have one in each car... :wink:

Yeah, it's generally believed that the later speedo was the 120 MPH jobby.
My Mk2 120 MPH is bevelled.

I've always been a little confused having seen speedos swapped all about...

I always thought it was only the UK speedos that had the rounded bezel, but I'm easily flustered these days..

This is a Mk11 housing and temp/oil gauges with a Mk1 speedo

Ive got the surround or binnicle worked out, but take a look at the 60 mph mark what is that lamp for??? isnt the mkI a 120mph but actually has scale marks to about 130

Norton your link to the one on ebay with the yellow background is the Australian Mk2 Note the Photo of the back of speedo Only the Australian speedos have this type of back,
Warning Lights On Mk1 Are diamond Cut ( for the want of a better word ) In apperance The Australian Mk2 Is Just a round hole with coloured Film Behind
