I wouldnt pay much for it, it seems pretty likely that it's a mini with discs. A cooper without a compliance plate is worth no more money than a mini k/ deluxe. But if it goes for a non cooper price then fair enough.

Looks pretty complete, and if it was converted it was a long time ago...or someone spent a long time weathering the paint evenly...

Austins have an ID plate in a different location. The 3.5" Cooper wheels are rarer than silver plated rocking horseshit so are already putting the value up there.
Brocade seat trim, board mounts, 100mph gauges, discs, etc etc....I would be getting on my pony and having a closer look if I was over there.

Take a look for a number stamped on a steel plate on the bonnet slam panel near where the horn is often mounted. It may be there. If there is no plate on the bulkhead, then try the radiator shroud. It will be a smaller plate with round ends.

Can't be an Australian 998 cooper, wrong doors, wipers park on the wrong side, wrong speedo and we didn't make Austins (as far as I know).

If it is a Cooper it will be a pommy one I think.

That's true...

Pommy cars didn't swap wipers until the Mk3...and then they had the little blanking holes...and there weren't any cooper 997/998s anymore either....

The wiper raises a pretty big question actually!

nope, scratch that. The wipers to be passenger side parking have to have the drivers side protruding through in front of the driver.

In this case they protude through in the correct spot in between the washer nozzles.

He's got left parking wipers on a right parking car...
Post mid-64 as it has front apron cut outs.

That's is an odd speedo with the graduations passing the 100, but where is it from if not a cooper?

Yeah, you're right about the wipers.

One other thing that I've just noticed is there is no hydro channels in the floorpan, this would again point towards pommy wouldn't it :?:

Oz Cooper perhaps as well, as there wasn't any hydro prior to the release of the Cooper S and Deluxe in Oz production and the floors were plain.
