I understand that the S on the end of the number means the block was sleeved by the factory when new.
I have no proof that this is in fact the case but it is something that I have picked up in my research that needs further work.

(I also need to find out what a B on the end of an engine number means 8) )

(edited due to piss poor spellin)

This is what I have for the 1003 engine prefix...
1100cc, Single SU, Manual transmission, Direct control gearchange (magic wand), Low compression, Mechanical fuel pump.

So that means Moke and possibly Mini 1100 Van.

Well that is great because it proves my theory was right!
How many sleeves did it have?

I wonder if they saved up the crook castings and fitted sleeves to reclaim them and used them in low compression engines?

Don't you have a full stop on your keyboard? It's very hard to decipher when you just run on without punctuation and capitals.

He is using the Tasmanian keyboard. They have to remove some of the unimportant keys so that the extra fingers don't hit them by accident.
