They are both Morris 1100S Automatic engines (or maybe Morris 1300 engines?)
They only made about 700 Morris 1100S Automatics and some had fully imported power units with the 12H169H prefix and there were some with locally assembled engines with the 12YA/A/H prefix.

The British code works out like this...
12 = 1275
H = Transverse engine
169 = variant number 169
H = High Compression.

1300 autos (some) were 12YE/A/H prefix. I'm driving one. :P
I also have a 12H169H/ auto block.
Main difference I can see is the early block had a dipstick hole (plugged) where the manual 1100S does, the 12YEAH didn't have one (until I drilled it).
For those wondering, dipstick on the autos is in the trans case.

I just looked up the 1300/1500 book. It lists the 12YE/A/H and the 12H. But it does not give the prefix numbers after the 12H but I would assume that it would be 169H.

H1150 is Standard at 2.78"

I got them all in cars.
The dearest one was the 1275LS, it cost $3500 in 1984.
The Cooper S was the next dearest at $250 in 1981.
The 1100S was $40 in 1979.
The Montego was $10 in 2003. :lol:
