Glad to hear that it has all wrapped up, albeit at a personal cost to you. I hope it isn't too difficult to put behind you. I know you said that the fire for cars has dimmed, but whatever you do, don't sell Lillie. You will regret it I reckon.

Ironic that someone complaining about people not having a sense of humour, takes serious offence to a few comments himself.

It didn't come across very well, not funny, not playful, even a smiley would have helped. :!:

They do say that communication is 90% in the body language & 10% in the words used. On a forum, no-one can see your eyes, or pick up your mischeivous nature

PS. on the use of smileys - what on earth does 'Razz' mean ??? - this one ---> :P

Gerry - much easier to chill out yourself, apologise for the tone/intent not being picked up on and have a laugh, as you seem quite capable of doing according to your last post.

I have to confess I still worry sometime about posting stuff like smart-alec responses to things as i'm not sure how well people know me, then I see brand new members who just come in and are pitch-perfect with every joke or put-down. I think it's a learned art :)

Chong - Good to hear it's been concluded, if not in an entirely wallet-friendly manner. Only having heard the initial reports from last year, I often think of your situation when I have been pulling away from lights with someone in the next lane going the same speed, and I always lift off and sit back, just incase.....

Great to see you back Chong and I am glad that Lilliee won in the end. I have won a few battles with the law but none as big as this. I take my hat off to you for taking this on. You have persistence and stamina. You have guts.

ROTFL @ Gerry, you are a funny bloke.

I got my mini green stickered (NZ version of your defect i guess) a couple of months ago under a new law that hadnent even been approved yet,

$500 in fines for being too loud, and having an illegal car (because he said it was too loud)

$200 to try get it re certed, was in fact 3Db too loud

Havnt tried to quieten it down yet - will add a hot dog i think

still need to put it over the pits to get the sticker off, re cert it and pay off fines, all because they thought i was a boy racer...... in a mini please.......

but this all up is costing me over $1000 to get the mini back on the road all because of a policeman that had a bad day and thought he would pick on the next noisey car, im an apprentice and cannot really afford this sort of thing.

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words. It's been quite traumatic at times, but I am totally well and truly OVER IT now  I almost feel like can get on with the rest of my life now and not have to worry about it.

Just worthy of note in case any of you still think racing off at the lights is fun: The first time you get caught for allegedly street racing, whether you did anything or not, they take your car away, park it in a inpound lot that is outside and under the weather for 3 months. You pay for this per day of course.

If you are found guilty and you do it a second time, they will confiscate your car for good, and recently they have been talking about car crushing. This means even when you are 50 and you buy a Porsche, if you do it again, bye bye.

Lastly earlier this year a bill was passed to change the street racing law. It is now broader than before and gives police even more powers. So I meant it when I said IT JUST ISN'T WORTH IT!

WA is going down the same path, I get my mini back tomorrow once I pay the $360 and get a release form signed. Then there is the summons I received yesterday, so now I will have to battle to keep my license.

I should have glassed someone in the face instead of speeding.
I would get a smaller fine & they would not be able to take my car or license.

<end rant>
