welcome jonathan,

hope you enjoy your time here on ausmini, theres a few alfa guys on here aswell so worry about feeling left out :)

that really annoys me that people dont look, dont leave a note, nor even care about someone elses property and do these things. depending on how deep the scratch is, you could look at getting one of those paint pens from supercheap etc.

looking forward to seeing you around on some sydney cruises & get togethers, also, im sure alot of us would like to see pictures of your new pride and joy in the members mini gallery section.

have fun on ausmini jono, we can be a silly bunch, but thats all part of the fun :D

cheers,
robbie.

hi Jonathon, welcoem to ausmini! the guys (& girls) on here are all lovely so no doubt they will be able to help you out. I'd be so cranky if it was my car, some people have no respect

Thanks :)

I'm pretty pissed off, especially considering I didn't even have it for 24 hours. But it is a car, and these things happen, you can't pretend its in a bubble and be overly fussy about where you drive it or leave it.

Will post pics up shortly in gallery section :)

Hello from Perth, my name's Brendon and my wife and I have had our Rover Mini for close to 3 years now. You've probably guessed from my username that it's an 89 Mayfair, she's running the factory manual 998 with air-con and the only mods I've done is to add extractors and a ramflo filter to help it breathe a bit better.
Although I'm also a Mopar fanatic I've found the Mini has become a bit of an addiction as well. Our Rover was pretty plain when we got her but we soon fixed that up with a bit of bling! :)

Even though I probably don't have the time we've just bought a project to add to our fleet. Some of you may have spotted it on eBay a week or so ago, it's a 71 minivan with an 1100 auto. It's surprisingly straight and rust free and came with heaps of parts.
I'm no newbie when it comes to car restorations but I'm no expert on minis either, so hope you all don't mind if I tap you of your knowledge occasionly once the resto gets underway :D

Hi,

I'm steve but all my mates call me foz. I have been into cars since my mother taught me to change the sparks and stuff in her roundnose and then her clubman when I was about 10. She thought that a smaller pair of hands would be suited to working on an A series.

I have moved from London to Brisbane a month ago. I got all the usual stuff; TV, fridge, Honda and then I got this:

you may recognise it? Steve from The Gap was selling it at the Mini Muster. Since owning it for a couple of weeks it has had the exhaust replaced with a standard unit with Chromed pipe. Although the car had a new clutch the gearchange was challenging so I have enlisted the help of Matt (madmini ?or something on here?) and he did some work on all the links to give her a whole new lease of life.

Matt is a diamond by the way. I highly recommend him.

What you didn't like the cannon it had on it  it's a nice car, hope you enjoy it and some of Brissy's ranges.
Are you going to join the Mini Owners Club of Queensland (MOCQ) if not you can still tag along for the runs they do http://miniownersclub.com.au/index.php check the calendar link

Well if I am honest the canon wasn't to my taste, I like originality. But I was more than happy to live with it for a while, unfortunately as I commute in the car and leave at 6.30am my neighbours did not appreciate the early wake up. So I was forced to replace it. $120 from Cookies, Wynnum.

Thanks for the welcome!

OK, after a great bunch of help from this list, let's call it a 1970 Cooper S, and a 1966/65 Cooper S. :)
