Kevin,
So I can plug both those magenta hoses into either end of the blue dot hose (one top of block clutch side, other into radiator) for the heaters to work?

If so, how do I work out which is the return from the heater and which is it 'inlet hose?

Tap is in and the other is the out let. If you want the heater on...you turn the dial to warm the cabin and open the rad..

you don't need no stinkin heater, that's what the exhaust manifold is for :P

The only reason I'd look at just getting it hooked up is to solve your overheating problems ;)

Im not worried about a tap gafmo, thanks anyway, but dont worry about it.
Id like to get the heater going if possible to help with any overheating issues AND if I need it to get the car licensed. I know it needs a demister working, so I guess I have to have the heater working to have that right?

I just got under the dash. One of the magenta hoses is connected to nothing and still has a clamp on the end. The other goes behind the central part of the cab and is half eaten through by rats (during its 10yr garage stint)

What do I need to remove to get access to the heater hoses and associated bits inside the cab? Does the whole dash have to come out or do I remove that big black dome shape bit (assume thats the heater fan workings)?

PS going by the length of the 2 magenta hoses I know which one attaches to where :)

Yes.
The inlet is the one goes to the water tap on the heater, that comes from the head. The other one goes to that pipe on top of the rad.
If you get it the wrong way round, heater will still work...
We don't use the heater tap in son's Clubbie, it was stuffed so we just took it out & flung it. The extra water circulation helps cooling a bit in summer. Just can't get cool air thru the heater, but who cares- it's got quarter vents..

Wonderful :)
Well I got under the dash again, and with good ol CRC got the OFF/SCREEN/CAR lever to work and close off the air ways to the appropriate places :)

The other lever that controls the HEAT/COOL is not being quite so cooperative, but I have to pull the heater unit out to replace the heater ends of those hoses so out it will come.

The hose that goes to the lever that switches from heat to cool (passengers side of heater unit 78 clubman) is totally blocked with corrosion and I cant see where it is supposed to go at this stage but after I pull the unit out I hope it become clearer. as long as I can get heat to the demister, I think the licensing man will be ok
