Hi

Does anyone know how good the now available selector forks are :?:

Are they as good as originals :?: Do they wear faster/slower :?:

I have one in the box, but it the new donk hasn't turned a single RPM yet... :(

I ended up with a Edit :3 synchro type selector fork and had to cut it down to suit a remote box...but other than that I got nuttin

I am presuming that all selector forks now available for purchase from our regular suppliers (eg, Karcraft, Minisport, Minimania, MiniSpares etc etc) are reproduction and not original manufacture. As has been pointed out on here recently the baulk rings now available are not as good as the originals.

I'm wondering if that is the case with selector forks.

Surely there is someone out there that has fitted them and has some experience/knowledge of whether they are up to the job or not :?:

Well there is a big fundamental difference between synchros and selector forks in that the synchros are made of hardenned steel whereas the selector forks are aluminium (?) bronze alloy.

Personally have only reused factory forks so I can't help there...

Yes while there is a fundamental difference between them there is also a huge amount in common, originals are hard to come by, mostly only reproduction available and both are wearing parts.

I have not bought any selector forks for years, but neither have I heard horror stories from those who have. Except the price... pretty ridiculous now for the amount of machining involved. :lol:

I'll be rebuilding a few worn ones soon, stay tuned. :wink:

No Chong there are only 2,
1-2 and 3-4. :wink:
Around $300 total.
