Have used Kenco Tyvek car covers for my car in tropical Asia, and they lasted pretty well, are light and easy to put on and take off and store away, and don't damage the paint (if clean). They feel like paper but are tough. Can't remember price but maybe around $100 for a small one.

For a car cover, one thing to think about however is if water cant get through it, and say they the car is parked outisde and it rains, moisture will go inside the cover and will stay there for a long time would it not? Therefore causing early rust etc.

If you can the best way to go would be get one of those car port tarp things with sides etc. And then use a normal car cover to keep the dust off as the wind still blows through a bit. This is more expensive then 100 dollars though. $150 is about what i paid for mine(from k-mart) i think and its been going good for a while now with slight modifications (making it stronger so the wind doesnt tear it apart)

Actually, the Tyvek covers do breathe, and it seemed to work for me in the tropics, so I would use one here (when I get a mini to put it on!)

Here is a link: http://www.tyvekcarcovers.com/english/carcover.html

Just my 4c worth
