I wouldnt be too worried about it, as long as its got the Gt markings i would think it be correct as others have said.

Somebody removing an original Gt compliance plate from a car and then pop rivet another GT compliance plate on, with the cars only being 10-11 cars are away from each other are VERY slim.

The compliance plate on this vehicle has been removed at some stage as its screwed
back on again, howver it has had a coat of paint too which would explain that.
The compliance plate and body number on the shroud do match and the fire wall is
stamped 23, then underneath 062 so im happy. All other little tell tail signs are there
so purchases were made.....

Picked it up for $700-.

Just posted this on another thread but thought it might also be appropriate here to help identify the car through the body stampings.

Only difference being the early GT Clubmans had Mk II Cooper S engines prior to the 1200 prefix. :)

Hey Julie - I thought the 1200 prefix was also a Mk2 S block just stamped 1200xxx??

9F blocks and 1200 blocks are exactly the same just got stamped with a different number.

I think she means is that the early clubman Gt's had 9f blocks that were left over from cooper s production, then they started on the GT number 1200/xxx
