Hi there,

Within two weeks, we are heading voor a four week trip in Australia. We arrive at November 1st in Sydney and will than travel to Cairns till 26th of November. We stay a short week (from 8 Nov.) in the Brisbane area to visit friends.

Do you know any mini-related events along the eastcoast in November (between Sydney and Cairns)? Or racing tracks where we can visit mini-races?
I found the historic hillclimb in Noosa at 15/16 Nov. on the Internet. Is it worthwhile to stay longer in Brisbane than planned to visit this event? Are there lots of mini's participating?

And we are also looking for nice mini-shops. I already found a few in the Sydney area, but are there mini-shops in Brisbane? We stay there longer, so it would be easier to have a look over there.

We run a mini-shop ourselves in Holland and are also racing (with a clubman 1275 GT and a cooper S from 1965), so it would be nice to visit some mini related events/races or mini-shops while down under.
Yeah, we are definitely addicted...

Hope to get some nice tips.
See ya,
Corrie

Not a mini event but if you're travelling the along the coast you're welcome to drop in for a drink and a mini chat here (Coffs Harbour is roughly half way between Sydney and Brisbane ) .

Hello Corrie
I am in Cairns so be happy to catch up for a drink and mini chat when you are here. There aren't any mini shops in Cairns but there are few mini boffins, might just be the excuse we need for another mini run :D No local motor racing that involves minis unfortunately.

Noosa Hill Climb is great, I will be competing there again this year. There are always a few minis, tho the numbers might be a little down this year, a couple of the regulars are not running.

Let us know when you will be in Cairns so we can organise a catch up. I'll send you a PM with contact details in next few days.

regards
Steve

Hey, sounds good. I don't know our exact itinerary yet (it's holiday after all), but I will check my messages regularly. So, maybe we can come for a drink. Would be nice. 8) .
We are leaving Cairns at 26th November, and will stay around Cairns the last few days, but we definitely want to see Cape Tribulation, so I don't know yeat when we are in Cairns. we will pass Coffs Harbour somewhere between 3 and 8 November.

Another question, is the Mini Experience Magazine available in a lot of stores? An Aussie guy who lives in Holland for a few years has a column in it. And in the latest issue, he writes about us and our race-mini's :D and mentions us. We read it last sunday on a meeting, but he only had one for his own.
I saw I can order it from the internet, but prefer to buy it when we are in Australia.

Yes, The Mini Experience mag is available from most good newsagents, here in Sydney anyway.

No probs, I'll PM you my mobile phone number and if your schedule allows, we can catch up. If we do have a mini run, would be on either Saturday 22 or Sunday 23 November. See how your schedule goes.
