G'day all,

I'm currently touring around Europe and will be off to the UK in a little over a months time. I've always wanted to do a bit of a driving holiday in a Mini around the mother country (probably thinking Lake District or a bit of Scotland) and am hoping someone might be able to point me in the direction of a hire company, or even someone that might be willing to hire out a mini for about a week.

Also if there anyone here knows of any good car shows or events that are on between about 18/11 and 26/11 then let me know :)

cheers
Jimmy

Get in touch with Watto - last time he was there, he hired a classic mini for part of his trip then a Bini for the rest of it - so they are available.

Cheers

Yes I am also interested. I am going to UK next year and thought about buying a mini, but hiring may be a better option.

Well, sorry folks, but in fact the two cars I had were on loan, NOT hired.

I looked around everywhere and found nowhere that was hiring Classic Minis and one or two places hiring new MINIs - but they were well outside my meagre budget.

A friend who owns one of the Mini shops over their loaned me his personal Mini for the first two weeks - I gave him plenty of plug in the mag (London Mini Centre, but no, he doesn't lend it to anyone normally and doesn't hire them).

The BINI I had for the last week was a press car from the factory - I did a road test, for the magazine, akll over England and up to Scotland and back.

Good luck finding a Mini to hire - it might be easier to buy one and resell it before you leave, or hire something else.

Cheers,
Watto.

If you're comming to Belgium, you could hire a new MINI clubman from www.dockx.be

Hmm! I just checked the world map and Belgium is not very close to Oxford and at the current rate of continental drift I dont think it will be much closer when I am in the UK next year. :)

Yes, but since Tommo started this topic and he's travelling through Europe, he'll probably visit Belgium too

I am from the UK. There was a great little hotel in southern ireland that had a mk1 cooper you hired as part of your lodgings...
