I ran an efi system on my 5 port... no problems.
Lot more power and torque. I am probably fighting a losing battle with some people but, efi is the way to go! especially with timing control.(and boost)

Brickworks, Are you using a Throttle Body injection or Port ?
I'm interested, I've got a Turbo 998 and the ignition is the real hassle, but if i can get the fuel "sorted" st the same time, then I'm happy to have a go !
I've got access to a "Beta" version of a new ECU coming to market soon, so the ECU isnt a hassle, but the injector placment and spray pattern are what are really worrying me at the moment...

Can you take some pics of your setup ?

Thanks
J

Brickworx-- Are your Injection systems all based on the rover injection system with just a piggy back? How are these at controlling ignition timing and such for boost? I know some chips struggle to move the ignition maps far enough to be of any real value when forced induction is involved. Hence why I bought a wolf computer for my falcon.

Those rover front cuts are looking better all the time but it wouldnt take much more cash to fit a different engine and gearbox all together eliminating any need for worrying about broken gearboxes and aftermarket support for turbos and things.

Have you ever taken a turbo A series down the quarter? How did it go?

Cheers
Dan

We run different injection systems for different cars...
rover standard.
rover modified
Twin point custom setup twin butterfly
Twin point with single throttle body for forced induction
and the list goes on.
I have an aftermarket computer that i use and recomend. it's not cheap, but it does the job well.

Not with me. EFI is the greatest. Is this port injection or throttle body?

i thought the elder 8 ports are around 3000, plus the ECU (1000 for a basic unit) plus injectors, new pumps etc.....

Wouldnt it work out to be a hugely expensive thing to make an 8 port EFI system?

I reckon you could pull most of it off a Jap or European EFI engine.. as Marcel did in the link I posted above.
That's what he's doing at the moment but he hasn't posted it yet.
Graham Russell ported the Elder head for him.

So brickworx is running TBI sytems. It is the port multi point systems that people are finding impossible to make work due to the siamesed ports.

chris, got any idea how much brickworx charges for one of these systems? Overall cost or anything like that.

Keen to get bricktop back on the road and would love to have EFI instead of plain old carby.... Would be something sweet to write down the side of the car along with a hug car length Garrett logo :D

Do you know if they sorted the casting problems that Marcel discussed. I would not want to spen $3000 on a head that has possible quality problems. and that price is before you get Graham to work the head.

I've just started to build an EFI manifold for the 5 port head. I will be updating my webpage in the future with how to go about it. (nothing helpful there atm) The Engine management system im using is linked there also. Both my webpage and the Engine management page are under construction. Since my mate have made the EMC any neccesssary changes to the control software of the EMC will be updated when required. :)
