ok so as most of you know, armageddon is a lemon and refuses to run. although alot of it is probably because of the driver...

recenly it was showing all the signs of a BHG, so rodney came up and we changed the gasket. we ran out of time, so we couldnt finish the job. all i had to do was rocker clearances and stick the carby back on. so i managed that the following week, but it wouldnt start. sounded a bit like a flat battery, but wouldn't push start so i thought it was something else. but i had to go to work, so couldn't investigate further. put the battery on to charge.

finally got around to putting the battery back in the car on thursday. still woudnt turn over though. but it sounded stronger. so, i got my mate to turn the key while i held the spark plug next to the head stud. no spark. righto.

i took the dizzy cap off and straight away saw the culprit...

changed the points, put it all back together. my mate says to me "are you excited?" i said "not really, i dont want to be disappointed" but i turned it over and it fired up!!! i got so excited!!! took it for a blockey, it was very noisy, and the brakes were crap.

wound up driving to geelong on friday morning, didnt want to but it was my only option. and it behaved which was good. on saturday me and rodney (mostly rodney) got stuck into fixing a few things. my brakes are nicely adjusted up, the exhaust isnt as noisy (the flange is broken, it is currently sealed but i will ahve to do something about a new one. we have a spare, but we will need to make the flange bigger) and the accelerator cable isnt sticking.

i've missed this car so much. it's slow, it's noisy, it smells. and i wouldnt trade it for the world (well, i'd like it a little quicker, and more reliable...)
