Been up in Rockhampton for the weekend and noticed a Enzed shop a block down from the son's shop so thought I'd get the bits I needed to replace the bango pipe from the block to the oil filter. So armed with the Doc's parts list I head into the shop and described what I was after. For a start he didn't have the hose the Doc specified but produced a pretty blue coloured hose that he said was rated for hot oil to 250psi - the blue will match the spark plug leads  Now the Doc's list called for barbed female connectors to go in the pipe so I figured instead of having them held with hose clips I'd get then crimped on. The guy tells me they don't need it as these particular fittings when pressed into the hose (which he did for me) the barbs bite into the rubber and have been tested to 10,000psi before they came apart - then the inner lining of the hose came away - not the barb.

Just thought I'd pass that info on - Hey Doc I'll be sending my nipples down for you to give them a tickle.

I no longer buy the 2 steel nipples from Pirtek etc, they are too dear.
Instead I buy brass ones from Bunnings, much cheaper, do the job fine and don't rust. 8)
