Some scrote popped my hood and stole the rotor button (center electrode) from my distributor while I was at work

Anyone near North Ryde with a button they could lend me? Guess I'm gonna get it towed otherwise.

Number is <snip>

Thanks,

hg. (searching around for rotor button)

Hope you didnt have to get it towed :?

A very strange and insignificant thing to steal, thats for sure. But a huge annoyance to you.

Cheers,
Matt

I hope you moved your car alright, could be someone wanted it left overnight so they could maybe steal it without so many people around, tell us how you went

After about an hour the guy whose car was parked two spots down comes up and says "looking for this?" with my rotor button in hand.

He says I parked in his company's parking spot and they pay so much for this parking spot, this was an engineers spot blah blah. I told him nobody was parking there for a few days so I've been parking there. I never got any warning or anything...

I told him I don't think damaging other people's property (and stealing) is a proper way to address this. He wouldn't give me his name, but I know his number plate and the company.

Dunno if I should just let it go... I feel violated. I think I might make a complaint on Monday.

How can I secure my bonnet? (Clubby)

A minor parking infringement doesnt allow anyone to tamper with or to steal anyone else's property.

A note on the windscreen would have achieved the same outcome. If there is no sign indicating it is for a certain company or vehicle how can you be expected to know?

I would certainly voice my concerns, if I were in your position. A very childish and poor way to address what happened.

Matt

bonnet pins are the best way. however this is something that happens regularly. at work all the time we move or deflate tyres of people who decide to park in our car spots for cars and try and run off. when they come back we tell them straight u cant park here. we do it so we can catch the person and tell them cause they always manage to speed off otherwise.

i would complain however i wouldnt be suprised if they say we'll u shouldnt of parked there.

an internal bonnet release will probably work.

I would take the matter further, i would complain to the coppers and see if they can do anything.

Bonnet pins are a pain in the arse. Get an internal bonnet release or modify yours to an internal release.

Regardless weather or not you were parked in a "reserverd"(not disabled) parking spot is beside the point. you just don't touch people on the stuff i mean you don't t touch peoples stuff opening a bonnet and taking somthing is outright theft he is obviously a C-hunt.I must congratulate on keeping you're cool well done and all credit to you

Andy

There is a company name painted on the ground in the spot. I saw that spot being unused for some time, so I decided to use it. :?
