check to see if it does the same when you put on the left indicator. also do both dash indicators, front and back indicators all flash or just on the dash? check the connections at the indicators themselves including the earthing connections. check behind your dash for any loose connections and check that the green with white trace isnt connecting to the green with red trace (or vice versa - cant remember which does right and which does left)

WTF is it with the dodgy earth answer. If I said that my starter motor spat teeth and showered sparks out the car's arse someone would shout dodgy earth. Electrical asparagus?

Mate all the replies you get on here regarding a fault in your car are all a stab in the dark from people who have had similar faults in their cars. I am not saying they are not correct with their attempt to diagnose. There are a couple of different Indicator systems on Minis dependind on which mode your car is. Most times this help just ends up confusing the hell out of people and even causing more problems as they try to look for certain things mentioned and in the mean time introducing more problems. I am pretty sure that the fault you have someone who knows what they are looking for could locate in five minutes. So my suggestion is = Take it to someone like an Auto Electrician who is not wishing to become Rich from his first Job on a Mini. (Unfortunately Us Auto Electricians do have a bit of that reputation, thanks for they few that come and go.) Also be ware there are Auto Sparkies that do not know a thing about Mini Electrics and in my openion should not be called Auto Electricians. Also Most Guys hate them and when they do get one they bodgey it up to get it out of their hair. If you were in my zone I would tell you to bring it to me and I will sort it out for you. Good luck.

mmmm...not really...unless you really have no clue.

There is a methodical way of sussing it out, the idea of ausmini is to help people save a few dollars and fix simple (which this is) problems themselves and maybe learna few things on the way. It's not a yellow pages for service providers either.

The problem will lie in the fact that you have coupled the two left and right circuits. There's two three places where you will need to look, I'm tipping that if it wasn't a problem but now it is then it is in the last place you fiddled with the wiring before the problem.

Anyway, you haven't given enough information for anyone to help you out, only enough to hope someone can do the work for you.
