These door fit on later models with Wind Up windows and Quarter galss yeh? Ie a '68 Deluxe?

Also, with the sliding windows, do they leek in the rain? What about when washing the car, if you are hosing the car down if you spray water at the window at the right angle will the water go in or are there seals?

I can get an old '850 shell, and I'm just thinking about using these doors as mine are pretty crap. Also, I might go for just some new door skins on the others yet.

Mate they do fit but not without some modification first. The B pillar is different. The sliding window doors have the plastic door locator on the door itself whereas your car has the locator on the B pillar. Consequently the female section for the locator is similarly the opposite way round. You can weld on the locator from your deluxe doors however you will also have to modify the alloy latch that locks the door to the frame or they dont close properly. As for leakage. There is a seal btween the 2 bits of glass and it does work quite well if in good condition but if you spray in there with a hose some water will get through.

So you mean if my shell is an '63 850 shell and has male latch on the b pillar it has been modified? So me selling my wind up window doors to fit sliding window ones is going to back fire and kick me in the nuts?

Your pillars have the same catches as my 850. My 850 has sliding windows.

The top catch on your pillar is the "female" part of the assembly. The later models have a loop on the pillar, I believe.

It's the Clubbie doors that have the loop on the B pillar, pillar is much different shape too.
AFAIK, on early cars the B pillar is the same shape, for sliding or early windup doors.

interesting... my van has wind-ups, but was originally sliders - the pillar doesn't look to be modified ...

....which means it has MORRIS wind-up-window doors.

The Leyland doors wont fit the Morris B-pillar.

My Morris Roadster is getting Leyland b-pillars grafted onto the car so that I can have the Leyland locking mechanism. It is a safer catch than the Morris one cos it wont pop open when the body flexes.

Burstproof locks yeah, but the doors aren't- my son had a head-on in his `77 Clubbie, and the hinges both broke in half instead! I think they are only cast iron.
I think Clubby latches are OK but the external lift-up bit is flimsy, and easy to break.

Well this seems like as good a thread to tack my question on as any.

I am respraying my car and i am looking at getting all new door/window seals for the doors/ quarters. I was thinking that it seems like a good time to take advantage of the good exchange rate and order it all from somewhere like mini spares. but I am not sure what I need as the websites can be a bit confusing. Are the sliding window rubbers sold on the uk websites ok for mine (different to aus mini's).
As far as i know i need: qtr window rubbers (smaller MK1 type), door rubbers (850 type?), sliding winow channels top and bottom and draft excluders. Am i forgetting anything?

How many doors are you buying seals for?
Sounds like you're mixing and matching.
No window or seal components from an aussie car with 1/4 windows will be easily obtainable in the UK.

Wind up windows ->qtr window rubbers (smaller MK1 type), sliding windows ->door rubbers (850 type?), sliding winow channels top and bottom

Very easy to break yes
Even easier to bend/stretch one of the parts, and it just hands limp on one side. Can be fixed, but very easy to bend again

Sorry i wasn't being clear.. by Qtr window, i meant the rear Qtr panel window, the pop open one. not the little pivoting front qtr window that some had. sorry.

so what i am looking for is all the rubbers for my sliding windows (top bottom and vertical draft one), the rubber for my rear pop out quarter windows, and the big doot shut rubbers. Oh and the boot rubber.
