Hi, today I decided I'd swap the stock exhaust on my clubman (that has never smoked a puff in its life) to the old exhaust I've had hanging in the shed off my old LS. Its a bastardised bitsa dad made for me years ago. The problem was, when it was last on my LS, it was when dad cracked the head and pumped oil into the combustion chamber and of course the exhaust was oil stained and VERY smoky. Now i've put the exhaust on my clubman and realised its a little smoky. My question is, should I just drive it and let the remaining oil burn off, or should I take out the exhaust again, and get it cleaned or burnt off or something?

It will burn off nicely. A run on the freeway should see it cleared pretty quickly.

Depends on how smokey it is. I would be inclined to just let it burn off. Shouldnt take to long.

If it does, get someone behind to take a video of the flames pouring out the exhaust

If it does, you will need to put the mini into a steep dive to try and blow the flames out. At least, that's how they did it in the old movies when they were in burning aircraft....
