Great looking 'S'. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.

Cheers Neil.

Chop Chop, I won't make it tomorrow. As you can probably appreciate there is some issues that need to be sorted first, mainly regarding safety and reliability.

Was up at 6.00am this morning and into it as i was itching to start on it. I want to make sure all is good before i start taking the family anywhere.
So many parts are still original that after 39years they need attention.
one of the best things is that the floors are so good.
Today I found the true colour of the car pre the GTO GREEN. It is a pale green but i will need to find what it was called for that 69 period. Anyone with any clues?

Thanks morris1100 I shall check with the swatches from my paint supplier so when the time comes I have the accurate information.
If the paint was pale green would the interior not be a light colour as well? At present the interior is black?

Regards Brian

Black was the most popular colour for the seats fitted to the Mk2 Cooper s, However other colours were fitted including Green, Blue , and an almost white colour,

awesome looking S - I really like the current plates - ESS 069 - "S 69", I'm not up with NSW registration prefixes, but that'd be an early one

My Dad has one of those steering wheels on his car, I hate it, makes it such an effort to drive, I use an original bus wheel, and it's just easy, on the road and in competition ;)

Just Be careful if you are looking for parchment trim, I have rolls of trim I bought from the factory Amongst them are three rolls marked Parchment, All different to each other, I am sorry to say not one of them suitable for the Mk2 Cooper S Or Mini K

I found a little more today, the liners in the rear pockets have been sprayed black over what appears to be an ivory type colour. i dont know the Parchment colour you speak of, maybe this is it.

ivory would be a good way to describe it

do some searching, there are a couple of cars with it - I've seen a Mini K and MK 2 S both in Camino Gold with Parchment

Who made the vinyl for BMC/Leyland Australia? Was it Nylex?

I know that some Holden people have gotten together to get Nylex to remake some of the old vinyls. The problem is that you have to buy the minimum quantity and that costs a heck of a lot of money. (about two Cooper Ss or one XU1)
You would need to know that a lot of people want that particular colour before heading down that road.
