i have ajusted them as far as they can push to lock but i can still lift the handle. any help will be great as i need to fit central locking and alarm.
no door locks in the doors, keyless entry well soon.

im having this same problem with my clubby atm. i cant get the doors to lock, so im changing the door looks hopeing that might be a reason cause they were stuffed anyway. but i just noticed the other day i cant lock the door from the inside either and when u adjust them it just moves the locking handle to the lock position but u can disengage it then.

I presume you are talking about lift up clubman type handles. Try loosening the 2 nuts that hold the outside handle on, this will loosen the bracket that adjusts the play in the handle - if it's to tight the lock won't engage.
