some one recomended i get one for the 1275.

but im told i need to cut out the metal behind the radiator casing.

any other Thermo Electric Fans recomended?

A plethora of fans from small Japanese cars can be made to fit, and cost about $20. Most of them are "suck through" type, and can be fitted without any cutting. The Davies gear is way overpriced IMHO.

I put a Corolla? fan in the Countryman without any cutting, but had to make an alloy shroud & mounted the radiator to the body as the factory shroud had been cut out by a previous owner.




Works much better. Currently MRBN is running without any fan with a 1430cc engine, but it's no good if you have to stop at more than one traffic light

was still going to run my original rad fan just sit the other behind it.

Or call brickworx and get your hands on a late model Rover Mini electric fan.

If you intend keeping your mechanical fan, then get one of the small rover fans before Brickworx get rid off all their mini stuff

taking on new challenges, you never know,
he is having a fire sale at the moment, selling everything thats is not nailed down, may be a good time to get some spare parts for future use.

Do you just controle them with a switch or they all an automatic thing. ' could be cool'

Id rather get a proper mini one then a next gen one.

i've got some kind of japanese one fitted under my front guard (came with the car) so i don't know what it's from.

it's just switched so i turn it on and off depending on when i'm looking at the temp gauge. it's a bit noisy and i think will need replacing soon, i've seen some no name ones in a ten inch size for about 50 bucks at supercrap. look like a direct copy of the davies craig for a lot less dollars.

the current one works a treat, except i discovered the other day of some more 'interesting' electrics in my car. if it's hot and raining... i cant run the wipers and the fan together, the PO must have been a real wizard with the wiring!

i think i also need to make sure my radiator is up to scratch, can i start the 'what radiator' debate?

i've got a 1275 with a lumpy cam. should i run a 2core, 3core or 4core? i've also been told just to get what i've got rodded out.

opinions?

i run one in madmk1, its noisy, but i havent really tested the cooling efficiency!

i also have a rover one in my delux!
man these things push some air!

Don't forget you gotta have a Rover radiator as it has the sender already fitted to the front at the bottom with the wire connectors, and all you have to do is plug it in and get a constant power supply and away it goes.

I put a seperate switch in mine, so I can turn it on and off when I want to, but the auto circuit is also connected so if its getting too hot and I forget, it comes on automatically by itself, so its coverd both ways. And boy does the fan suck some air through the radiator.....

did these need to be mounted right up against the radiator to suck through properly? im thinking for summer this might be a good idea
