hi all

My name's Deb. I own a 1997 Rover Mini Mayfair (that's her in the picture to the left, have not worked out how to put photos in this yet).
She is an automatic, SPi and has 39,500 kms on the clock.

I have owned her since February and have no history/service records for her hence why I am posting topics almost daily! I have also found it impossible to find a mechanic that is interested in looking after her so my partner and I have decided we will do most of it ourselves (with your help!!)

I love how when I drive her (she is my only car so daily driver), people smile at you, or stop to chat and share their mini stories.
I had someone stop me in the shopping centre last week and ask me if I would like to sell her - a definite no was the answer.

I live in Gladstone, QLD.

Cheers
Deb

Hi Deb and welcome to Ausmini. The SPI and MPI cars aren't really common over here which is why it is hard to find people to work on them for you.

There are a select few that have all the correct diagnostic equipment for them but I get great satisfaction out of performing maintenance on my mini myself.

Hi All,

My Name is Adam from Melb and I have just joined this forum.
I have 2 Mini's one is a 2008 Clubman and I love it. I have just purchased a 6/1978 Mini Van which I will be building up and painting it the same colours as my late model clubman. I did post a question about if anybody has or is doing a late engine convertion from late model mini to early model.

Cheers

Been reading these pages for about a year and decided to make a "post", I currently own 2 minis, 1967 Grp Nc Cooper S (replica ofcourse) and a 1965 Cooper s (rep) Tarmac rally car (Targa Tas type), Love um both, so much fun, owned plenty of cars and my first was a 78 LS1275 (12 years ago), Wife had a "new BINI Cooper S".... ( Im pretty sure thats what you guys call it) and it just didn't do the name "mini" any justice as far as I'm concerned.... Nothing like a 45 DCOE hanging in the back of the speedo !

Cheers

PG

Hi LS1380, I loved that car and had oppurtuntity to buy it back a few months ago, I spoke with the guy but sold it before I could get to view it, Dame it..... But the new owner apporoached me a few weeks ago at a race meeting when I was racing my Nc car and and asked me if I was the previous owner as the CAMS log book was still in my name from 10-11 years ago and needed it transfered to his name.... I brought back some memories.... Cheers
