OK, one more for tonight.

It seems like this must have been covered before, but can't find it.

What have you done to recondition your fuel tanks, i.e. strip them inside and out, reline, repaint. Also, any success with replacing the supports in the boot? My right one was riveted and is rusted away into almost dust; the left one is in better shape.

tx,

You can purchase cleaning / sealing kits for petrol tanks. Check this website out http://www.por15.com/products.asp?dept=12
You might be able to find a similar product that does the same thing.
What do you mean by supports in the boot? The boot floor tabs that hold the Cooper S floor board in place? Or the tabs that the fuel tank support strap bolt into?
