It's a black Molex type multi pin plug. Only fits one way (good idea that, you can't f**k the connections up).
It came off a mid-70s Clubby van.

Can someone with a late MK II S or Clubman that uses the 12AUW wiper motor please confirm that the self-park feature actually works on their car?

The only time I have found they do not work is
1 The park plate at the back of the nylon gear is RS
2 The Connector that Runs on the park plate is worn out
3 The wiper motor is not earthed
4 using a light switch instead of the correct wiper switch

Doc - I was hoping we could locate someone who would be willing to wack a multimeter on each of the leads to their wiper motor to verify whether there is supply, earth or nothing dripping out the end (with the switch in each of its three positions). Just trying to shorten the investigation should you have no joy tomorrow.

Hi Doc,
Try taking the two screws out that hold the connections to the back of the wiper motor and and pull away from the wiper body you will then be able to have a look at the three connections they have a habit of wearing badly, also have a look at the metal park plate, they often rust or wear badly, I can help with a new park plate if you find you need one

Thanks John I'll let you know.
Both these motors have been in storage for years, they are probably dirty inside and a cleanout would help.

OK, no parky reason found.
I've stripped one motor and looked inside the other.
The 1st motor (78 Clubby) has the outer track of the slip ring plate burned away, the 2nd badly pitted, inner track OK.
`Brush fingers' not perfect but will do.

On the 2nd motor (early Clubby) the whole plate has disappeared on one side.
On this one also the 3 `brush fingers' are badly worn away/corroded.
I'm probably looking for another motor then?

I think Convertible Mini said he has had SS plates made for these, I will ask.

I'm going to silver solder (SBA45) the tips of the 3 finger contacts on my bad one.
If I clamp a pair of pointy vicegrips on the copper strip it'll stop the nylon body from melting. I hope...

Doc, You can replace the brush fingers from one motor to the other if you need, or swap the gear with the park ring fitted from one motor to another, As I said I do have new park ring If You Need them

Thanks John but I need to get 2 Clubby motors going properly.
One for the wife's Clubby van, the other for my `70 Matic so I can let 4myego have the single speed motor for his 69S resto.

How much is a park ring, and would you have 2?

I only have one park brush assembly that's good, the other will work if I build the 3 tips up. I can't make it any worse....

OK I got 2 park rings from John, I've fitted one to the best motor. After bending the 3 fingers down a little, I have autoparking. :D
It is wired to the MGB 2 speed switch as discussed on previous page-

"If you compare the switching to 64cooper's diagram I think the wiring to the toggle switch should be:

1 - none
2 - BLG (same as 5 on rocker switch)
3 - none
4 -B (same as 2 on rocker)
5 - none
6 - RLG (same as 4 on rocker)
7 - none
8 - ULG (same as 1 on rocker)"

I'll hand draw a schematic tonight.
[me CAD illiterate now] :x
