Hi All,

I need to get the bronze bushes out of my radius arms however the manual says I need tool No 18G583 to remove and No 18G584 to install.

Does anyone have a short cut of an easy way to get them out with the afore mentioned tool.

Thanks
Dave

I thread a hacksaw through the arm and cut a groove through the bronze bush. This relaxes the tension (a second cut continues this even more) onto the arm so it will push out easier. Once this is done done a drift can be passed through the arm to drive the bush out.

For a hacksaw? An essential tool.

Get spare blades!

I have always used an old selector shaft out of a 3 snc gearbox. there hardened steel so they dont bend and you can hit the bush out easily.

I screw a 7/8W tap into it, then use a BFH and punch to drive the bush and tap out.
You are going to toss the bush anyway...
