Either will do the job if a fan is what you are after, however the Rover item is designed for an underwing cowling that is supplied in the later Rovers, and therefore hasn't go a guard to suit. Neither is there an easy way of stopping the fan from fouling without some fabrication as the spinning part swings in free space.

I would go the generic as it will be a little easier to fit and make safe.

I'd use none of them.

The rover fan as shown won't really work in the early cars very well because it needs the inner guard cut up, whereas the generic one won't be suitable in the wheel arch.

Get your greasy mits on a rover thermofan from the 80's.
It will bolt onto your van with NO modifcations to either of them, and it has the correct cowling to direct air through the fan.
