How about bore posting (sp) like the civic guys do, they screw a stud into the block to support the bore?

The idea I had was to take a cut off the top of the block around bores and remove the cylinders down to the bottom of water jacket. Then off set bore the base and machine up some barrels off a VW and set them up as wet liners.
Then fit new top plate with "O" ring seals basically like a wet liner diesel eng.
I worked out that the bores could go out to to 78mm .
A lot of stuffing around to achieve little. That project was dumped in a corner.
