So what has the world come to when you can get a speeding fine for going 4km/h over the limit. $128 and a demerit point.

You know if it were upto me, i'd send cops out to catch the real crims.

It better fix some Mini unfriendly pot holes! Better not pay for another cop to sit on the side of the road, eating donuts while catching people doing 4km over the limit.

take the feb 1979 wheels road test of the 1275 LS to
the cops - they state tht the LS speedo read 5km/h inaccurate,
so when you are doing 60km/h you are actually 65km/h!!!
worht a try aye

VICs really need to get a class action going over this stupidity....bear in mind also that the accuracy of your speedo would vary over its range.

I'll bet it was on a downhill section of road as well

Don't you still have the speed check on the melb-geelong rd?

When I lived in Torquay (crap that was 10 years ago  ) there was a speed check camera thing near Avalon that displayed your actual speed. Idea was you maintained a steady 100KPH betwwen 2 markers and your actual was displayed on an overhead electronic sign - damn good idea We had 3 cars - 0ne 5 k over 0ne spot on and one 8 k under

thats fine if your instrument is perfectly LINEAR....across its range....no guarrantee any other point on the dial will be as accurate...

don't forget the measured markers on the signs of some roads as well....usually over 5 clicks.....

i have been done heaps for speeding, too often. they sent me the letter telling me i can lose my licence or keep it and be f'ing careful...

there's a road in werribee (wynham vale if you are picky) called Black Forest Road. NEVER SPEED DOWN THIS ROAD!!!!!!! there is often a copper on the side of the road, the worst bit is its a 50 zone, and there are PADDOCKS WITH COWS IN THEM ON ONE SIDE!!! grrrrrrrr

 the nsw gov just reduced the fines for lower level speeding from $138 to $78 so that they are not perceived as revenue raising.    must be an election next year

but they still have not introduced a penaly for driving like a ****

please excuse the french, but i copped a heap of them on my way to work on the bike this morning. particulary the ricer in the white supra. what a knob.

I you tryed to tell them that the LS speedo was out, then they have got you for more, coz then you might find yourself driving home with a defect sticker....like me :(
i got done doing 73 in a 60 zone, coz me $210 bux,1 demerit point (1 more 1km/h and i would have done in 3),then he went and defected me for bald rear tyre and battery not clamped down :(
i was trying to catch chris (cal. moker) in traffic
