filled it in and faxed it back.
some members won't like what i wrote, but they needed to be told.
and if they have a problem with what i wrote, i suggest they speak to me and not behind my back.

Before that the "club" was really a loose amalgam of mates who all owned Minis, mainly modified Cooper Ss and hot 1100s, who used to congregate in the City and parade down Rundle Street at night (it was still a street not a mall back then). That was in 1971-2.

The ricers of 1972! Love it. Can't wait to see what happens in 20 years time with all the ricer mobiles down at Bondi. There Stereo's will be like running around with an 8track in the car

This tension between the two clubs has caused many members to leave both clubs.

Well this is an interesting thread! Yep as far as I have been told Slide is pretty much bang on with regard to how it all came about. But let me assure everyone that the rivalry between the clubs now is really quite friendly because as you would expect most of the people in both camps from back in 1972 have grown old and moved on etc. The main reason for the two clubs remaining seperate is that although in the early 70's they were quite similar clubs with personalities that clashed, today the two clubs have evolved in different directions and as a result they have similiar personalities but different club interests.
MCSA has turned into a club that has a social and family type atmosphere, with a competition and Mini common thread, and MMCC has a Mini and Competition focus with a social background. hmmmm does that make sense?
I can't really recall anyone that has left MCSA becuase of "conflict" with MMCC or anyone else, it is all the kind of rivalry you would expect from any of the other Mini Clubs... friendly but spirited.
Tombo I'll give you the same advice Adrian Flynn gives most people when they are considering joining one of the clubs. Try them both for a few months and join the one you feel most welcome and comfortable with!

Cheers

For what my opinion is worth I think it is completley stupid to have two small clubs in one small state. Personally I think the clubs should merge, I don't think it'll ever happen though. I've been a member of Hotbricks on and off for 8 years.
