I know there are some very smart people on this forum and some of you have talked about ways of fabricating plastic parts, such as light lens. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
As part of the ongoing restoration of my ex-NSW Police 1970 Cooper S I'm gradually aquiring authentic Police items. At this weekends Ballarat Swap Meet I managed to purchase a couple of period Hella beacons (i.e. flashing lights), however they came off a fire vehicle so the lens are red. I'm trying to source replacement blue lens as used by Police but in the meantime I thought I'd investigate making my own in case nothing eventuates.
Is it possible to make a reasonable copy of the lens pictured below and, if so, how do I go about it? Alternatively do you know of anyone or any organisation that would do it at reasonable cost?

The height of the lens is 13cm and diameter 11cm.

Not authentic but this company has 100mm diameter available in blue.

The original one would be injection moulded which would be very hard & $$$ to replicate but you may be able to get someone to vacuum mould one out of 1 or 2mm acrylic but it would be hard to get the thicker rim but it may be possible to form a bit of a bell mouth on the rim to hold the lens in possition.

Good luck
